October 30, 2018 New Jersey Italian Heritage Commission Board and Summit

In honor of Italian Heritage Month, the New Jersey Italian Heritage Commission (NJIHC), hosted a program at Rutgers University titled “Strengthening Italian Studies Summit: Get on the Map!” The purpose was to target educators, cultural club leaders, and concerned members of the Italian community to promote and enhance the study of Italian language and cultural heritage.

Participating in the well-attended event from left to right, were Frances and Sal DaVino, entrepreneurs and benefactors of the NJIHC, Cav. Dr. Gilda Rorro Baldassari, and Robert DiBiase, Chair of the NJIHC.

Three commissioners hold a poster produced by the Italian Heritage and Culture Committee of New York, Inc., which is a “Salute to Italian Women in America: Breaking Barriers…from Ellis Island to the Present.” 25 copies of Gilda’s memoir were distributed to the participants.
